Don't be afraid!

Without determination you cannot succeed your venture. Without hope you will not find solace. Peace is around us, but you cannot find it without optimism. No matter where we are, or what we are doing there is always a better way. There is always a different road to be taken, a different story to be told. We need to take the leap and jump sometimes, because it may be better than walking down that same path, it can only be better. It's scary to be different, to rally alone and to be the loud one in the crowd. But if it is what you believe in, what you feel inside your heart then you must fight that fight. If not, you may end up living the rest of your life wondering. Wondering what life would be like if you just... You will struggle to find your way when you are moving away from the wrong. It will not be easy most of the time, but in the end it will be SO much better. You will be glad you did what you did because you did the right thing. You challenged yourself to stand out and be different. You managed to rise up against the odds and fight against adversity and pain. But you did it. You are now an inspiration for so many. You should feel really good about yourself. So many people are looking at you differently now. You are strong, you are brave and you are now fearless!! Don't be afraid.

Party Planner!!

Halloween was fun, but oh so exhausting!! The kids had a great time. I have no regrets, just wish I had more time to get things done better. I volunteered as classroom helper in my younger son's classroom. That was at 9am. I really didn't think it would take 2 hours for them to have a parade, but it did! So, after that I had to race out of the school and go home where I needed to get the treats that I prepared for my oldest son's party. I elected to be room mom in his classroom too. His party was not until 1pm, so I had about an hour and a half to do as much as I could to get ready for our home halloween party. Well, of course I stil needed to go grocery shopping and get a costume. So I raced through the grocery store and was able to quickly go to another store across the way to see what I could find for a costume. I found one!! But of course the only costume I found was one without a tag on it. So I needed to wait, ever so patiently, for someone to try and find a SCU number for this costume. I got it and then was able to get to the school on time!! Amazing!! But the caveat was I had a car full of grocery shopping on a beautiful 60 degree day. I was hoping I wouldn't be at the parade/party for too much of the afternoon, but low and behold I left at dismissal.
I got home and just got to work on "our" party. I made sandwiches, brownies, rice crispy treats and filled bowls with Doritos and popcorn. Set tables and cleaned floors, made sure music was on and also a small dinner for the family before the party. The kids got home with the husband and it was perfect!! I was still rushing around right up until like 5 minutes before the first bell, but it was great!! I made great timing considering all I had to do that day. The party was a blast, trick o treating was great fun and the clean-up wasn't that bad. I am just really happy it is behind us and I got great video and pictures and fond memories of an eventful day.
I don't think I would have changed one thing about it all.
Thank-you God for giving me all the gifts to hold it all together and still manage to give advice to a disgruntle relative who called, during the party.
