June already!!! I love this time of year!! The weatehr is officially nice. My sweet daughters birthday is just days away. We are having a butterfly themed party. Super fun!! I love planning parties, even though I am not great at it. I have wonderful ideas but executing them... not so good.
I got the cake ordered, I have the birthday party favors (diy butterfly magnets), I purchased the party plates etc,.. all I need to do is order, or make the food!!! This is the most taxing part for me. I never know if I should make it myself or get it catered. I really would love to make it all, but I highly doubt that will happen. I will order it just to make sure I have enough, and it is Good!!!!
Oh well!! I was supposed to go on a field trip with my son's class today. I was going to meet up with another Mom and bring Mmadison. I was hoping my FIL would be home for Nick. Well, at 6:30 this a.m. my FIL tells my husband he will not be able to get Nick off the bus today. THERE GOES MY PLANS!!! Moving on !!! I am dissappointed, but to be expected for me!! I am going to look up some recipes for desserts... yeah I will make a few simple, delicious (I hope) desserts for the party!!!

Always looking...
Why is it that I am always looking for a new challenge? It is like I always want to make things a little better. I see nothing wrong with this.. but WHY? Why is there this constant need for me? It is very time consuming because once I get an idea in my head I cannot give up on it until it is finished or until I have utterly exhausted my efforts. I wonder if there is something missing in my life? Is it that I am not happy.. so I keep trying to fill that void with something?? Strange, it is!! Honestly I don't thing I would have it any other way. I just wish I didn't exhaust myself in this pursuit of mine. Oh well!! Just a thought I guess. It seems as though lately people keep asking me this very question. And I love when I am trying something brand new and then others after years of doing nothing, take me idea and develop it further as if it were theres. Am I not supposed to be offended by this??? Some would say I should be flattered. How can I be flattered when they are trying my idea behind my back and I find out later or through conversation. It makes me laugh!!! lol I am almost afraid to share my thoughts or research with anyone because I am afraid they will steal my idea and run with it. Then I would be SO MAD if they developed my idea before I did. That is not fair!! Get your own ideas... Be your your own person!! Geesh!!! Well I need to cut up some fruit for my darling little one.. Talk soon!!!

5 days left!!!!
I went for a 3 mile run tonight with Lisa. She is great! I met her at the bike shop. We agreed to do bike rides on Friday mornings, and meet up again on Mondays with Bob and a new girl Devan. This is sooo motivating for me. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have met these people and now train with them. I finally have a circle of people that like to do the things I do. Who would have thought?
But anyway, the run... I met her at her house and we ran from there. We almost didn't run due to the rain. We contemplated it, but decided to do it anyway. I have never run in the rain before. She has so it was no big deal to her. I found it to be the most fun I have had in a long time. It was completely exhilharting. You definately should try it.
I am really excited about this tri. I want to try and be as prepared as possible, both mentally and physically. My run was slow tonight, but better than usual becuase I had Lisa who is way faster than me. I do feel ready for this race.
My goals are:
1.to finish strong
2. to have a 10 min finish in the water
3. to have a 40 min finish for the bike ride
4. to have a 30 min finish for the run
Any supporters out there.... I could really use some of your encouraging words.
5 days away and counting.......

New Challenge!!!
O.k. so I have my very first Sprint Triathlon in 2 weeks!!!! I have been procrastinating about writing this blog, but I think It is so important that I document of my training. To start with I have absolutely no training whatsoever in biking or swimming. I joined a local health club with a friend of mine, who "was" going to do the tri with me, so we could train together. Swimming was horrible for me. I literally knew nothing about the sport. She taught me what she could, she was a good swimmer. She knew boat loads more than me, so she was good enough to teach me the basics. We trained at the gym about 5 nights a week. We started in late January. By February I had quit that gym and she downsized her membership. I get bored very easily... well that is not entirely the reason I left that gym. I left my job so that was issue number 1 (money), I hated leaving my house so late at night to train # 2 (she could only workout after 8pm) and I really dreaded the 40 min ride to the gym. So I decided to join a gym much closer to my house, more inexpensive and a lot nicer. So I began my training alone. Except I met this amazing aquatics director that was so kind to train me in swimming. He watched me swim a couple of laps the first time and actually said I was an easy fix. So in no time I was doing 4 laps without stopping and feeling great about my chances for completing that portion of the race.
so for training this is what my week looks like.
I have no specific training plan, I go for what works for me, what I feel like doing that morning. But I absolutely always work out 6 days per week. 2 days running at least 3 miles (always with at least 1 hill) 2 days biking (I am getting stronger and stronger on the bike!! and 2 days swimming ~ I do 9 laps or 1/4 mile then 6 -9 laps of kick board and then another 1/4 mile. I also do 2 warm up sets followed by 2 cool down sets. I love to swim now. I always did enjoy the water but now I can actually swim the right way, and I can breathe... it is a GREAT feeling!!!
So I am feeling really good. I bought a road bike on ebay, I bought a tri suit just yesterday and everything else is just worry, worry, worry for me. I am getting more nervous as the date quickly approaches. So I will keep logging because I want to look back at this and see what worked what didn't work for me.

Don't be afraid!
Without determination you cannot succeed your venture. Without hope you will not find solace. Peace is around us, but you cannot find it without optimism. No matter where we are, or what we are doing there is always a better way. There is always a different road to be taken, a different story to be told. We need to take the leap and jump sometimes, because it may be better than walking down that same path, it can only be better. It's scary to be different, to rally alone and to be the loud one in the crowd. But if it is what you believe in, what you feel inside your heart then you must fight that fight. If not, you may end up living the rest of your life wondering. Wondering what life would be like if you just... You will struggle to find your way when you are moving away from the wrong. It will not be easy most of the time, but in the end it will be SO much better. You will be glad you did what you did because you did the right thing. You challenged yourself to stand out and be different. You managed to rise up against the odds and fight against adversity and pain. But you did it. You are now an inspiration for so many. You should feel really good about yourself. So many people are looking at you differently now. You are strong, you are brave and you are now fearless!! Don't be afraid.

Party Planner!!
Halloween was fun, but oh so exhausting!! The kids had a great time. I have no regrets, just wish I had more time to get things done better. I volunteered as classroom helper in my younger son's classroom. That was at 9am. I really didn't think it would take 2 hours for them to have a parade, but it did! So, after that I had to race out of the school and go home where I needed to get the treats that I prepared for my oldest son's party. I elected to be room mom in his classroom too. His party was not until 1pm, so I had about an hour and a half to do as much as I could to get ready for our home halloween party. Well, of course I stil needed to go grocery shopping and get a costume. So I raced through the grocery store and was able to quickly go to another store across the way to see what I could find for a costume. I found one!! But of course the only costume I found was one without a tag on it. So I needed to wait, ever so patiently, for someone to try and find a SCU number for this costume. I got it and then was able to get to the school on time!! Amazing!! But the caveat was I had a car full of grocery shopping on a beautiful 60 degree day. I was hoping I wouldn't be at the parade/party for too much of the afternoon, but low and behold I left at dismissal.
I got home and just got to work on "our" party. I made sandwiches, brownies, rice crispy treats and filled bowls with Doritos and popcorn. Set tables and cleaned floors, made sure music was on and also a small dinner for the family before the party. The kids got home with the husband and it was perfect!! I was still rushing around right up until like 5 minutes before the first bell, but it was great!! I made great timing considering all I had to do that day. The party was a blast, trick o treating was great fun and the clean-up wasn't that bad. I am just really happy it is behind us and I got great video and pictures and fond memories of an eventful day.
I don't think I would have changed one thing about it all.
Thank-you God for giving me all the gifts to hold it all together and still manage to give advice to a disgruntle relative who called, during the party.
